Halong Bay Adventure

Enjoy the very best that Catba Island and Halong Bay has to offer. Your adventure begins in the morning by hydrofoil boat to Catba Island. Here, your own private wooden junk will transport you to Catba's secluded, crystal clear beaches where you will probably be the only people there. Enjoy a pleasant lunch on the boat as it passes through Lanha Bay (famous for its pearl farms) and enters Halong Bay prized for its many islands and scenic caves. A trek through Sung Sot Cave, Halong Bay's most beautiful cave, allows you an up close experience of Vietnam's most pristine beauty spot. Your boat trip ends in Halong City where your car awaits to bring you back to Haiphong.

During the French colonial era, Haiphong was deemed an important stronghold with its port serving as the main gateway for supplies entering into Indochina. Today, Haiphong still conserves a unique French ambiance and rich historic past with its tree lined boulevards and stunning colonial buildings.

Starting outside of Haiphong, off from the main road, into the rural roads. Explore Vietnam like the locals do: by bicycle. Experience real rural life as you pass through unspoiled villages, verdant rice fields, and historic pagodas. See the scenery that you could not see anywhere else in Vietnam. We turn off from the main road just outside the city limits of Haiphong and onto rural roads, leaving the bustle and hassles of crowded city streets behind us. The leisurely 3 hour bike ride allows plenty of photo opportunities of people working in the fields, children enjoying a cool bath in nearby streams, fishermen and their sampans, and whole families traveling on their bicycles overtaking us with joyful greetings and smiles. Return to the hotel by car.

The tour begins early in the morning by car from the hotel, traveling by road and two ferries, and reaches the main gate of Catba National Park in a total of two hours.

Elephant (Voi) Mountain is located 20 km south of Haiphong, approximately 30 minutes by car. With its rich history, rural landscape, rocky mountains, caves, temples and splendid panorama, Elephant Mountain is the ideal playground for a mini trek.

Cultural Haiphong Cyclo Tour

During the French colonial era, Haiphong was deemed an important stronghold with its port serving as the main gateway for supplies entering into Indochina. Today, Haiphong still conserves a unique French ambiance and rich historic past with its tree lined boulevards and stunning colonial buildings.

A wonderful and relaxing way to explore this culturally rich city is by cyclo. Start your trip from the hotel as you pass through tree lined avenues into the government district. Here you will find the most beautiful colonial buildings of the city, most of which have been accredited as national historical relics. Visit the Bank of Foreign Trade, followed by the buildings of the Department of the Interior, the Department of Investment and Planning, Department of Labour Invalid and Social Affair, the Governor's Office and City Hall. Marvel at the State Bank Building by Lac Long Bridge, the only stone built building in Haiphong city. Then reach the Grand Cathedral, built over 120 years ago when the French missionaries first Christianized the city, followed by the Municipal Theatre (or Opera House) which serves as the center of Haiphong. Your tour ends with a visit to the colonial railway station and the Haiphong Museum prior to returning to the hotel.

Catba National Park Trekking

Catba National Park is home to numerous types of plants, birds, and reptiles. During the 4 hours of trekking through Catba's mountainous jungle terrain, you will discover unspoiled reserves of species, tropical plants and vegetation in their natural habitat. Your trek will lead you pass the famous Frog Lake and end at Viet Hai Village. From there, a one hour flat terrain hike brings you to beautiful Halong Bay where a wooden junk awaits for you at the end of your trek. Enjoy a pleasant picnic in Catba National Park or a nice lunch on the junk as you depart Catba and head back to Haiphong.

Elephant Mountain Mini-trekking

The trekking starts with a visit to an old temple – tunnel – Pen house – Du Kinh cave.

Elephant (Voi) Mountain is located 20 km south of Haiphong, approximately 30 minutes by car. With its rich history, rural landscape, rocky mountains, caves, temples and splendid panorama, Elephant Mountain is the ideal playground for a mini trek.

Be prepared for an exhilarating 1000+ steps climb that affords you plenty of photo opportunities. Climb the steps to the pen house on the right wing side of the mountain, from where you will be offered a beautiful view of the region's rural life and landscape. Visit Du Kich Cave, a former base of the Viet Minh Guerillas used during the French-Indo War. And end your trek with a visit to an historic temple that dates back to the Mac Dynasty (16th century).
